Lovely car, the 1.8t gives great MPG. Always curious why no one has remapped them.

I think someone has, there was a thread on here. I'll have a search.

EDIT: I can't find it but I'm sure someone has.

i agree the car looks great..

i met up with a guy a few weeks ago that mentioned he could remap my car to 187 bhp..that would be something don't you think

I do believe someone has had the 1.8 Turbo engine fitted to his ZS.......his was mapped and produced as much power as a ZS180........bearing in mind the lighter weight of the K series the handling and power to weight ratio was much improved too :}

Cracking combination of engine and car if you ask me ;) lovely looking motor!

:drool4: Would it not cause damage tot he engine though:shrug:

I doubt it........MG Rover would have had reasons to cap the output at 160bhp from higher strain on the engine to emissions to out performing the larger engined variants and a compromise model with power when needed and economy at the same time.......

K series engine with the updated ladder and gasket parts should easily handle 180bhp tuned :}

pab 13th June 2010 00:31

two stages were mentioned 177 and 187 bhp and a better pull from low revs,which the engine lacks.

i have the graphs,if anyone is interested

Simondi 13th June 2010 07:59

Is that just from the 1.8T or is there mapping that can be done on the 1.8?

:}:}:}:} I had to take it because I believe it was bullying the whole showroom. Think I have the only car with a ASBO..Had the car about 3 weeks now and I still smile everytime I get in it :bowdown:

bobthebuilder 13th June 2010 09:19

Of all the versions, is the 1.8T the fastest, or would that be the 2.5 V6?

lasor 13th June 2010 12:22

Looks like my thread is starting to get stolen by remapping disscussion...:shrug:

Anyway to get back on track here is a few more images...
