Your a fast mover Brian what will this be a local National

James.uk 12th October 2010 16:17

Ellow Actros. :)

Erm, where is the York Aircraft Museum ?

Sadly if it's in York, then it's too far for me, falls outside my 90 min drive limit innit... :o

Sounds nice though, I hope it goes well.. :D

Bet no one has called Brian a fast mover for a good few years! :D

Jake 12th October 2010 17:02

Believe it would be the Yorkshire Aircraft Museum at Elvington, just off the A64

http://www.yorkshireairmuseum.co.uk/

Superb place, have visited it probably every year for the last 20 - some superb exhibits, and one of the longest runways in Europe - is an emergency strip for the space shuttle and was designed to take B52's carrying Thor missiles I believe.

Yorkshire Air Museum (also of Top Gear fame), to the south of both York and the A64 bypass.

No mate as the york air museum can only deal with 50 cars max.

If its not a national meet,it doesnt necessarily have to have more than 50 cars, could still be a weekend meet,as Derek has suggested, wouldnt mind going to this myself, but would only do so if we could make a weekend of it.

Best Regards.

John.

PS You only need to place a limit of cars attending.

Homefarm - on the right, travelling on the direct route from York to Cawood, past Naburn Lock. Not far from Elvington and YAM -much cheaper than York and more friendly.

Nice idea, but our weather is too unpredictable, best to wait a few months, April - May should be OK. :xmas-smiley-031:

That might be a bit far between courses. I'm surprised no-one's suggested turkey sandwiches and mince pies in a car park somewhere. What a way to spend Christmas! :biggrinsanta:

How's your truck going?

James.uk 15th December 2010 16:33

*sighs* I wish you lot would learn to read innit.. I said "April or May" whereas Xmas is in December innit.. Do'hhh :icon_cry:

And -- even if you turn up, I may still be fast asleep.. :p :biggrinsanta:

Just leave the door open and we'll help ourselves to grub and entertain ourselves, don't actually need you to be there.

Doncaster meet

Hi,
Reading through the posts I noticed that Andy willi & John's where organising a mini nano meet 12/02/2011 at their place near Carcroft just outside Doncaster. As a member of English Heritage I'm familiar with Brodsworth Hall which isn't far from Carcroft and is just off the A1 to the north of Doncaster. Often on weekends they have things such as Classic Car shows, what about organising a meeting there? perhaps also including other Rover models as well? Show the cars off? just a thought.
All the best
Ged
