How To - Identify Your 75 Or ZT Stereo
To help members correctly identify which original Rover head units were fitted to their cars, Duotone and I have compiled this guide. From the beginning of production in 1998 up until to 2002 there were just three types of radio in the 75: 1) Harmony A 7 watt per channel radio by Phillips http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...y.jpg~original 2) Symphony A 25 watt per channel radio by Alpine http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...y.jpg~original 2a) Symphony with Low Line satellite navigation http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...e.jpg~original 3) High Line satellite navigation with built in TV by Alpine http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...e.jpg~original The Symphony and the High Line Sat Nav could be upgraded by the option of: The Harmon Kardon sound system This 10 speaker system consisted of uprated speakers in the door cards, 180 watt power amp in the boot & a subwoofer http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...n.jpg~original The Symphony and High Line sat nav remained an option until the end of the production All the above head units could be upgraded with the addition of a 6 CD Multi changer which could be boot mounted or placed in the glove box. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...r.jpg~original From 2002 MG Rover dropped the Harmony radio and used the single Din Iovox system instead. Three variants were available: 1) Iovox CD 80 A 20 watt per channel single CD and radio tuner http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...0.jpg~original 2) Iovox M3 100 A 25 watt per channel single CD radio tuner with MP3 disc playback http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...0.jpg~original 3) Iovox CR 80 A 20 watt per channel radio cassette with boot mounted 6 CD multi changer http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...0.jpg~original As an alternative to the Iovox single slot CD unit, in 2002 the Blaupunkt 'CD 32' a 45 watt per channel single CD head unit was also introduced Blaupunkt CD 32 single CD radio tuner 45 watt per channel http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...t.jpg~original ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally, shortly after the facelift 75 was introduced between late 2004 & early 2005, the head unit supplier was changed from Iovox to Siemens/VDO, again three options were available: 1) The VDO CD 413X A 35 watt per channel single CD radio tuner http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...X.jpg~original 2) The VDO CD 5404MP3X A 35 watt per channel single CD radio tuner with MP3 CD playback http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...X.jpg~original 3) The VDO CR213X A 20 watt per channel radio cassette with 6 CD multi changer http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...X.jpg~original |

coding procedure
Hi Reebs
looking at the list of CD Players I have a VDO CD 413X which was fitted by the garage I purchased my 75 from as it had a very poorly hashed cassette player in it(I think the garage owner was related to Del Boy Trotter) I had to pay someone to code it but since that time (Jan 2014 ) the battery had to be disconnected to have the clutch etc replaced I have the 4 digit code but no instruction manuel to put in the code so I can listenen to my music the person that done it before is no longer trading, Would you have the coding procedure or know anyone who has so I can put the code in I have tried 4 times but now have to wait hours for it to reset as |
Hello Brian, have a look at the last page (21) of the operators manual for the procedure which you can see by clicking

Thanks mate I have found a handbook and followed the instructions and it bleebed and now says wait so I presume that the number I was given was incorrect which he wrote on his business card but I have found another number written in the hand book I will have to wait a few days for the cd to reset and try this one if that fails then I wil have to pay someone to do it for me
Anyway realy appreciate your efforts |
Not necessarily, as you are a subscribed member Xpart02 (Stu) will happily supply you with the original security code for your radio if you send him a PM with your vehicle details ;) Xpart dealers usually charge for this service, but red forum members get it for gratis :}

There was also an option for the integrated mobile phone unit for the Highline system, it was late coming out, it was supposed to have been factory fitted to my ZT260se but they were not available until about November 2004 when mine was finally fitted after having the car delivered at the beginning of October 2004 without it. It was only fully compatible with the Nokia 6310. There was going to be a Bluetooth unit but it was still not released by the time MG Rover folded... I even offered to beta test it for them :D
