Uk Best Restored Classic Japanese car 2001
1984 Celica Supra....one of only 30 roadworthy examples left at the time of the shot...now lives with a collector....look at that tyre skew!;) http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...hotoshoot2.jpg AWWW..someone make the piccy full size for me? pleeeeeassee. |
ah the Supra. :)
I wanted one. But when I went to a local garage to test drive one, I couldn't fit in the thing! yes, I am a big bloke but because this car had an electric sunroof and electric seats, the headroom was non-existant. :( anyway... it's by no means a great photograph, but this was the very 1st car I bought with my own money. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...My-1st-car.jpg one 1973 Vauxhall Viva "estate" (more like a 2 door hatchback if you ask me) oh the joys of 4 speed gearboxes and no power steering. :) Not to mention the 1.1 engine that had a 0-60 time of 5 minutes (seriously!) what is also strange, is that I never actually drove that car on my own, as i started learning to drive in it at 17, and it blew up the day before my driving test, so i did my test in my grandads Wolsely 6 :) I passed, so maybe it was a good job i had been driving it as well :) |
I taught myself to drive in one of these as you could drive them on a motorbike licence but the less said about it the better!
http://i15.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/99/88/f948_3.JPG Took my test in a borrowed one of these so I am completely self taught and still passed first time http://i7.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/97/a4/617f_1.JPG Then bought one of these which I later converted from Auto to Manual with Overdrive! http://i22.ebayimg.com/05/i/000/9a/56/4497_1.JPG All pics pinched from ebay! |
Me little ol' Spit :)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...lty/spitx2.jpg |
I have always liked the shape of the MK4 Spitfire never owned one though, and now with three small boys a two seater would be less than sensible.
I might be buying a Triumph Stag when they start fetching relatively low prices in the Autumn and Winter. |

I know it's not a car but it's not a bike either. Taken on a trip down to the Algarve about 10 years ago an excellent ride there and back. |
Does this count?? :D :D :D :D
It is the actual car that will be received by the winner of the raffle... a mere 75p! http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i2...l/PHTO0051.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i2...l/PHTO0053.jpg |
Zeb, I've met Salesmen like you before! http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ons/icon10.gif :pillow:

I'm feeling old ! I worked part-time for a motor cycle dealer and he had a Morris J van like that and of course sold Vespa scooters all before Marilyn Monroe died .

any one remeber these little numbers
|
A Bond Bug 700ES!
I had one for about a week! I took it back where I bought it for an MOT and later had a phone call. It had gone up in flames! Fibreglass doesn't burn I said, no but Resin does they said. All that was left was a pile of fluff :) They gave me a full refund They are worth a few bob nowdays |
Wished I'd kept mine along with my old Triumph Daytona. Me and quite a few of my mates all had a bug as you could drive them on the bike licence. Used to get quite a lot of attention from people, although I suspect for the wrong reasons. The colour was bright, shape very odd but hey they seemed to be a bit of a cult car.
Only scary bit about driving them was going round corners at speed, I always thought i'd tip over, cheap to run tax and insure, sorry now I got shut of it, they do seem to be worth a bob or two now. |
Ye gads! It'll be Spacehoppers, Chopper bikes and Cresta pop next...it's frothy man...
 |
The van is a (so I am told) very rare Austin version...
here is another picture... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...utter/van2.jpg |
So the first is a couple of Moggy softops. I have a saloon which once it has a floor again (not being helped by the time being spent on the 75) I might turn into a cabrio.
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...b/IMG_0249.jpg And this is my Mog http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...b/b12225ef.jpg The third is another cabrio, but a bit the other end of the scale! http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../IMG_0889b.jpg And finally, a cheat. It isn't a picture of a 75, but at the same time, it is. If you look carefully, you can see the instrument pack. http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...b/DCP01431.jpg |
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...b/DCP01431.jpg
Is that the new Chinese off road version of the 75? ;) |
It's got 75 seats, ATC panel and wing mirrors?! What is it some kind of test rig?
|
Yep you guessed it!
That's possibly up to 10 years old now |
:p: Don't suppose you kept the door handle finishing kit off it! lol
(seeing as there are no doors they'd be in great nick!) |
It's a complete R75 electrical system. It was known as the Labcar, and had a computer simulation of the mechanical bits like engine and gearbox, so that all the ECUs would run as though it was a full car, so you could actually get in and 'virtually' drive off.
