Good Morning.
Derek and Lillian, not got anything planned at the moment just going to enjoy the weather while it is lasting, how are things with you, and most important how is your good lady, sorry not been on here much, I have heard your reunion went off rather well.
Still trying to find out why my damn reverse sensors still wont work.

Kind Regards .
All our love to you both.

Dawn and Julien

Morning everyone - from a sun drenched Exemoor.
It has all the makings of a hot day, so I think we'll pack a couple of butties for lunch and go and relax on top of the moors for the day

I was going to fit the new trim clips for the boot liner in the 1.8T but the rain has returned. Discovered one missing from the 260 and both missing from the 160 so ordered four from All Car Parts Fast, great service and cheaper than Rimmers but that isn't difficult!

You need to move Edinburgh a few miles further South Steve - it's dry, sunny and hot in Somerset (or Devon - still haven't worked out which county I'm in) - and have you seen the forecast for mid to end of NEXT week  :D

stevestrat 25th June 2015 13:19

Horrible here now Rod, rain is pis... pouring down. Wouldn't mind but it wasn't forecast when I checked the Met Office website earlier so I wandered around the garden this morning spraying plant food! Rain has turned that into a pointless exercise.

We move on next Wednesday to just outside Chippenham - forecast for that area by then is 28°

Funnily enough, I don't mind salad - as long as there are some elements with a bit of bite to them - radishes, scally onions, a few 'warm' peppers - and a drop of this to top it off with :}

Not sure yet Derek - depending on the weather, we may have a trip over the moors to Lynton & Lynmouth (I know you can remember the cricket pitch in the Vallley of the Rocks ;))
We do need to top up the larder too - and the nearest supermarket is about 14 miles away

****** hell Stu don't be saying things like that, she may be thinking a clean break is best and in my experience it usually is. Chin up Stu, I know it's a cliche but there really are more fish in the sea. Bear in mind the female mind is much more convoluted than ours, they never need reasons for 90% of the things they do.

Morning Stu,

It may be just her way of dealing with things.
She may be confused with her emotions and seeing and talking to you may be difficult .
Give it time and things have a way of working themselves out.

I won't hit you with "plenty more fish in the sea", it wouldn't help, you weren't dating a haddock! It'll take time to get over it Stu, you've got a break lined up, make good use of it, fill your mind with other things. G'day all - first time I've had internet or any kind of access to the ether today :}
The weather has spoiled itself a little today - a number of quite heavy showers. The good news is that they've cleared, the sun has arrived, and it's pretty darned warm. The even better news is that the forecast from now onwards is pretty much unbroken sunshine for the next 10 days, with the exception of the odd shower on Sunday.

We've had a lazy day today, went out for a paper - a 10 mile round trip - and then just idled around the site. We'll have to go and do some serious shopping tomorrow - food supplies aren't too bad - but I've run out of cider

Georgies Dad 26th June 2015 18:41

Good evening everyone, had an afternoon in Polpero today, got a bit wet it was misty with drizzly rain, back at the site, the sun is now shining, just had pulled beef chilli with rice from the camp takeaway, very nice and tasty:drool4:

Now sunning myself and drinking last bottle of cornish rattler, will have to restock tomorrow

coolcat 26th June 2015 19:11

Don't know how it happened but I seem to have found myself in the Toby:eek:

All gone, pudding next;)

stevestrat 26th June 2015 20:13

I honestly couldn't eat that much. I've cut down on how much I eat and now my stomach is accustomed to less food. We were out for a meal tonight, I made the mistake of having a starter, couldn't finish the main, scrub the dessert!

Had to put yet another hole in my belt! I'm now at the point where I'll have to think about new trousers, most hang off me now.

Good morning Stu, I am sorry to hear this news that you are in that place of self doubt and heart ache. I didn't know you had split up. You should not be humiliating yourself by going round. It's impossible to say why she has gone silent on you, but my guess is that you have hit a raw nerve with her about something and she is pushing you away even more. Chin up mate, you need your friends now and a great pee up :)

Good morning Jeff, bad luck Ros and you are having to work under such unpleasant conditions. I had a bad fall yesterday evening and fell into a gully in the forest, hurting my shoulder. I am going to the airport this afternoon to catch a flight to Doha in Qatar. I spend the night in Doha. It is very hot there right now and then fly to London tomorrow morning - a 7 hour flight :)

Cheers Jeff, get your head down and catch up later. Fortunately I was with my brother in law. He had a good laugh and got me on my feet again. He was in the British army flying choppers and is very much an 'Action Man' ... It must have looked quite funny to see me go tumbling lol I will be okay I am sure, I have to be. I am going to have a cuppa. See you :)

Good morning Freddie, no not yet. The car needs a service and a compression test. I am not taking it on any long journeys at the moment, just in case. I am hoping it is just a cam guide or cover seal leak, and not a piston ring.

Evening all - there is someone out there I hope :D

Been and topped up on food, and more importantly cider, today at Minehead. Then had a leisurely drive back over the moors - about 10 miles which took us almost an hour - I'm going to have to send Angela on a map reading course.
I thought we'd gone wrong when I drove past the same dead pheasant in the middle of the road for the second time :D
Been a lovely day on Exmoor today - clear skies and sunshine, and temperatures up to 20°C.
Apart from the possibility of a shower tomorrow, the next week is supposed to be sunny & hot - fingers crossed.

Nice area for sure and one of the best for a leisurely drive.

For cider try Sheppy's near Taunton. http://www.sheppyscider.com

Worth a visit is Tarr Steps, found it by accident years ago and on a hot day it can be nice and cool under the trees. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarr_Steps
