when the weather gets better it will be back too painting once again, Its been over a year now and impressed that none of the paint has hardly flaked off, Its only three coats, But I still want too try and give it even more great protection so.
Bought some layland trade paint have a crack at that then start the whole process I did again with gravitex and paint over it and keep repeating it till I get board then hopefully it should last. They need to clean all this c,r,a,p underneath first tho.:D BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://i.imgur.com/2xVX7pAl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/FNywGHDl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/w9cF8UMl.jpg |
Anti-rust afterwords cover is an art.
You should speak and take an advice with a chemist. Otherwise it is waste of money for sure. |

Red oxide has held up really well. :D I need too stock on more of these. :D https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-x-1L-U-...sAAOSwh41arugW |
Back at it once again with the heat starting too build up again and getting warmer with each passing day, No better time too start painting once again. :D
Used the whole tin underneath good four coats may seem like over kill but the end result will be worth it. Just got too let harden propyl. Then I can start applying Gravitex which will protect all this I've painted. :D Once that's fully dried I can paint it what ever colour I like. :D https://i.imgur.com/0WsLHM2l.jpg https://i.imgur.com/pLwmAzKl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Hwu4jyZl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/nhNWLEgl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/2oB3zRal.jpg https://i.imgur.com/SSq6YMIl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Gg3teUJl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/jFwparVl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/8oXf1Pnl.jpg |
Time too bring out the big guns. :D
https://i.imgur.com/L8ZnEtVl.jpg Finish off my rust proofing and get my panels back on exterior clips broken but that's okay I'll just make sure damn sure I'm happy with everything before I put the panels back on. :D Once its all done and dried I can paint underneath with blue hammerite paint once its fully hardened and dried. :D Mabey I should do this for a living preserve and help others preserve cars. :D |
Hiya all just want too ask just too make sure I'm doing this right.
It regards too paint drying time, When I paint the first coat I normally give it 1 hour too to be touch dry and then I give it other coat once again. and I keep doing that till its finished and leave it for 24 hours before putting anything else on top. Am I doing this right? I know with spraying the drying time can be different with the thinners and harden mixed but with something that's brushed on I can take longer. I've bought some paint today and each coat you have too give it 16 hours before you can put other coat on. I started panicking I thought or damn I've not been letting it fully harden long enough, but had no problems tho. |
Had enough of this now.
I'll be glad when all this beeping painting is over I've had enough of painting now. :duh:
My stone chip stuff has fully hardened for the last few days, just waiting really so I can give it a top coat and be done with it. I hope too god this works in total I've spent on rust proofing everything. £200 pounds worth paint has gone into this car. Hopefully I've stopped judgement day or delay it even longer. :D So that's 3 coats of red oxide. 3 coats of British layland anti rust paint. 3 coats of Gravitex stone chip paint. Finally 1 coat done other two too go Hammerite garage door paint Oxford blue. :D So do you reckon I've done enough I like too think I have. :D https://i.imgur.com/pOUcRQ3l.jpg https://i.imgur.com/4ueJQoCl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/IKL5Vuml.jpg |
