Hello, I had an event with my Triumph this weekend but I've just broken it. With little hope of it now being ready in time I would love to come to this instead if it's not too late to register.
I'd better start cleaning it tomorrow, it looks like an old builders van at the moment! |

Thanks for site map information, very useful, never been before

A quick plea:
If anyone has a Sykes Pickavant ACR4 can they bring it along with the lead and Rover pod? Have a problem with mine and doing a bit of mixing and matching would help to narrow it down. |
I will come, It will be a first time for me, Any tips on how to get there. I will be driving from near Sheffield, Thanks Dave.
|
|
I'll be there, but with the MG Rover Diesel Owner's Club in section AE on the map.
Come and say hello - I'll be in the Le Mans Green ZT-T. :) |
I'm hoping to get there, in my ZTT, cos the 260 isn't ready :mad: but does anyone know if dogs are allowed???
Rich |
Yes dogs allowed!
On the lead as you would expect around the cars, but the park is huge and you can wander off and take a walk with dog I have taken mine in the past and will do so in the future Kelv PS. I will be there, but I am parking up with the MGCC on the ZR/ZS/ZT Register stand |
Cheers Kelv :}
|
Can I park in your area please?
Rich. |

Had hoped to be there this year but sadly not, my Arran white has let me down for the last time and have finally called it a day.
I have bought Milleplod's V6 but won't have till next week so will have to take a rain check this year. I am looking forward to getting the V6 and hopefully stop digging in to ever deeper pockets. It's going to be a wrench when the K4 finally leaves my drive, when ever that will be, lots of memories, 8yrs. |
Love to give a go - count me in please!
|
Please remove my car from the list. I still intend to go but I've sold my 75 so I'm Roverless.

Hello Paul,
Pleased to confirm I'm coming to POL. Regards Kevin |
Happy to confirm my attendance now as well
Thanks Pete |
Only just found this register. Flyer printed and will meet fellow members at Strensham Services M5 at round 8.15 in the morning.:}

Hi,
Can you take my name off the list of cars attending please as the Typhoon 190 is still in the garage today due to finding a couple of problems while having the cambelts changed. :eek: And the 1.8 turbo is suffering with the usual problem (HGF). :o :duh: I will still be attending even if it takes a plane, train or bus! :D Tom. |

Got the Bittersweet monogram ZTT that mrs wants me to bring. No biggy if not but seen all the mini's there (my other love) so thought might go after all. cheers Geraint |
I won't be on show anymore. Collected the car ready to leave, got to the petrol station and discovered my front drivers side spring has snapped :(
We're still coming down just won't be showing the Tourer |
Can't get a flyer printed off either, I'm guessing telling the marshalls area "U" and flashing a membership card will do?
|
Yes just tell the marshals on the gate that you are for stand U with the 75 ZT Owners Club and that should do :}
Geraint, you are more than welcome to join us, I just had to have a cut off point for updating the list from post 1 and print off. It will be great to see your Bittersweet ZT-T in the metal :cool2: |
Hi, pleas put me down for this. I will be there hipefully just before 10 so plenty of time to get settled on the stand. Will print a flyer now! :}

Just one picture off the phone of a genaral view of the field. I can't believe how many cars are here. Hundreds and hundreds, almost all from Longbridge, with rest from other Leyland factories. There's about 120 cars on our standard with many other 75s and ZTs dotted around the rest of the park. Never seen anything like it. Fantastic.

A grand day out ! Only downside for me was the one and half hours in the queue to get onto the park - I must try to time it better next time.
It was great wandering round seeing great examples of cars that I have owned over the years, from Morris Minors, Austin A40s, through Metros, Rover 400s, Rover 25s, before graduating to the Rover 75. Nice to meet and chat to a few forum members that I have corresponded with over the last year - Spyder, MikeNoc, first-things-first and Acrtic. Apologies to Klarzy - I meant to come and say hello to a fellow Fen dweller, but every time I walked by his car, he was surrounded a large crowd of admirers. Hope to catch up soon. My humble 'poverty spec' 75 classic did not attract too many photographers being at the back of the club stand, apart from one guy who took lots of close ups of the plastic wheel trim covers (whatever turns you on !). I attach a couple of photos I took - one with my car and a more general one of the club area. Thanks to all the organisers - I hope to make it again next year Cheers Pete http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...4&d=1429440071 http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...5&d=1429440089 |

First off hi Derek and Lilian, hope you had a safe journey home, we left just after you at 3 o,clock, just as well I have heard it took someone over an hour and a half, as we left cars were still trying to get in. What a brilliant turnout our group had a stunning view of all the other cars being on top of the hill, I would like to say many thanks to all the organisers, and stewards who made the getting in easy. We stayed at Premier South Rubery, met Thomas and his dad, Craig Spyder, nice car, Woof and Alan Jay, they were all nice cars a credit to everyone. One gripe there were not enough toilets, stupid knowing the amount of people there, should have been more, and seperate ones for men and women, and you didn't want a **** cos! There was no toilet paper. We came home today and stopped off at Banbury visiting a National Trust property. It was also good to meet people who I only had contact through the forum. Julien |
First time at POL and absolutely loved it. Even though we had to come down in my fiesta instead of the ZT fingers crossed it will be there next year lol xxx

Many, many thanks to all those who have posted some great photos to drool over. So sad was not able to go after registering to attend ages ago. It must have been a wonderful day with superb weather too. Perhaps next year. Sadly am not able to make the National in May either!:mad::mad:

Great day on Saturday, even the weather played its part. So many cars to see and people to chat with:D.

This was my first POL and It was a good day with many interesting cars to see.
Had to queue to get in but that was because I left home too late as took a while to get my teenage son out of bed, haha. Wife and son were bored so I will go on my own next time....... Parked my MG6 In our section but think I should have parked with the MG6's as no-one seemed interested. I did speak with some of our members as I was very interested in their cars and of course I am still looking to buy another ZT. Was surprised that I only saw one ZT for sale. Anyway thank you to the organisers, I know a lot of work goes into this sort of thing, well done. |

excellent event!
This was my first club event and I must say how impressed I was with the friendly atmosphere that I found and the convivial banter that I engaged in with other club members and officials.
I am going to try to get time off work to attend the national at Haynes museum( It's my Sunday to work! ) as I have got bitten by the infectious club bug ! |
It was nice to meet and chat with you too Keith, getting to meet other members in the flesh does make quite a difference to simply typing on a keyboard. Hopefully see at Haynes then next month :}
|
Well this was our 3rd POL and I have to say, that it was the most enjoyable so far! :}
Whether it was the change of organisation, or the better weather, I can't say, but it just felt more friendly and welcoming than previous years! :} As for the turn-out, what can I say? :shrug: 4,200 cars! :bowdown: One thing that I did notice that was different from previous years, that there were less cars for sale and the general standard of the cars, seemed higher than previous years! :} Maybe the surviving cars have now changed hands to owners that actually want to keep and cherish them, which for me, has to be great news! :} |

Did anyone do a mileage check to and from the POL? My total mileage was 620 (from Edinburgh), average fuel consumption was 35mpg. On the journey down the car clocked 50000 just as I joined the M5.
|
I did 672 miles over the course of the weekend, because of my convoluted route.
|
228 mile round trip, 40.5 MPG, was 43 when i hit the end of the queue to get in... :duh:
|
215 mile round trip - mpg about half yours! LOL

My trip ended up being over 300 miles thanks to a diversion on the way back, mpg was 36 according to the ipk :D:getmecoat:

Over the course of the weekend Fri-down, direct,Mon home,stopped off at Manchester Airport for a spot of Aircraft spotting 520 ml,altogether £100 worth of fuel, whatever that relates to roughly,with the present fuel prices,didn't think that was too bad for 2.5 V6 Auto with cruise.
Best Regards. John. |
142 mile round trip in my diesel auto Tourer (no cruise), including over an hour queue to get in, done on £16.50 fuel on brim to brim. Well pleased at 47mpg.
Show was great as usual, but the schematic of Club stand rather inaccurate, which meant I ended up with other 75s near the MG and Heritage stands, until I found and joined you after lunch! Just wonder if I aim to arrive after noon next year I will avoid that queue, or whether everyone else will have the same idea! Having queued so long, like everyone else, was surprised that so many cars started leaving from 2pm, only to join a queue to the exit! |
430 miles and did 40.3 mpg brim to brim. Not bad for a 2.5 v6 now is it
|
did the whole lot on half a tank.up to pol from Suffolk.left pol sat night for the forty odd mile run over to Hinckley .went to xpart on the sunday then the 100 odd mile run home,i hit the magic 60 mpg on the ipk on the way up only for it to drop to 39 5 due getting stuck in the que to get in for a hour and a half.for this reason I have now decided that will be my last trip to this meet.
|
Quote:
|
it took me an hour to get in.
upside was looking at the faces on the public walking and driving past :D |
Well I finally got round to tanking up Ed again after the weekend, so I'm ready for Kings Lynn this weekend! :}
248 miles and just 27.5 mpg! :eek: :getmecoat: I must try and stay off the loud pedal a bit more! :o :D |
Quote:
Is there any press, local paper or TV crew recording/reporting on the event, would be great to see video footage. |
Quote:
I have just done a quick calculation I got similar MPG. Trip to POL, including sitting in the Q to get in and some around town miles this week 252 miles = 27.45 |
I managed 49 mpg for overall trip to and back from POL but of course its a diesel so to be expected I guess, but the queues to get into the park were huge,though we had a appreciative audience along the route, I,m sure it was reported on local news
|
I got 27.1 MPG on my brim to brim, over the course of my trip, but, that's down to the 2.0 V6's short gearing, which is a pain on the motorway. However, being on LPG, that's given me the equivalent of over 50 MPG with absolutely no effort made to drive for economy. The one thing that annoyed me in the queue was the sheer number of cars which drove right past the queue, then tried to cut in, which slowed it down for people who had the courtesy to queue.

PoL
After a busy week I've finally got round to editing some images from last Saturday http://www.electriclemonade.co.uk/pride-of-longbridge/
Had an excellent trip up from the south coast with Reebs in a ZT 180 mini convoy, cruise locked on at 70mph on the digital speedos (calibrated IPK figure of 35.4mpg), stopped at the Marlbrook Travelodge to meet Christopher, Jimbo and Simondi and then we all went in together. Queue to get in wasn't too bad to get in at 9:30. Way too many Minis and other 'non-Longbridge' cars there for my own taste but a really good day all the same. Amazing how few Marinas, Princesses, Montegos etc. were there. http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...a80bf80efd.jpg |
Great Photo my dads car T34BDV is just peeking into view

I enjoyed the queue! I arrived about 9.15 and had to queue for about ten minutes but then I spent about an hour walking along the the queues (there were two of them, one in each direction) and got some great pictures. From the top of the hill I could see the queue in both directions and it was a real sight to behold. The last of these pictures was taken about 11.30 and still it goes back as far as the eye can see!
So my advice would be to get there earlier but even I was in the queue it wouldn't stop me going again. |
