Did a run with filters (piper cross socks that some people say are useless) and a run with no filters at all. There was virtually no difference in power at all (less than 1bhp) when running with no filters at all and therefore no restriction. My brother spent a silly amount of money on a carlos fandango filter on his single weber similar spec engine and lost 8bhp with it over a K&N that was on there previously. Went straight on ebay afterwards. If there are slight gains with a better flow air filter you are unlikely to feel any difference on the road. The K&N panel filter would be my recommendation; you don't want to end up spending money to have a reverse effect on any gains.

Being familiar with the Sprite I'm surprised that you found any increase at all, or what you did find was about as much as could be expected.

But we are talking about 2 quite different systems. The filters on the Webers would be directly attached to the carbs themselves, whereas on the V6's we are talking about cutting out an Airbox with baffles in it and about a metre of tubing with quite a few bends....

So as you quite correctly say, it bears no relation the the question here.

I'm sorry if this comes over as harsh, it is not intended - it's just that I really can't put it any other way - sorry.

This is where I bought my K&N Panel Filter from - I don't think you will find it cheaper. They were only £27.00 when I bought mine... :(

Aye; horses for courses...

No car, no matter what make, will benefits from an intake system unless it has an ECU that learns or the ECU is reprogrammed to allow for the extra air flow... Same goes with exhaust systems...

It's all about the noise ;)

As I'd previously said though; consider a non-oiled filter to help save the MAF from getting clogged up... K&N filter can and do bleed their oil!

This is the ITG filter you need: http://www.bhpplus.co.uk/ITG-Pro-Air-Filter-WBB.html

The problem with MAF and K&N is that most people use far too much oil after cleaning the filter. If the oil contaminates the MAF, you have used too much oil. It's that simple............:getmecoat:

I agree with that but also know for a fact and have seen also, that brand new K&N filters used have clogged peoples MAF's!

d_a_n1979 6th January 2015 18:34

I don't think it's that expensive personally but yes, that's the correct filter for the ZT190’s box...
