I think the 'events and meets' forum is rife with spam. The national meet thread has got to be the worst example, countless posts of

The number of unworthy postings in any particular is inversely proportional to the amount of time spent reading the number of unworthy posts in any particular thread, which is inversely proportional the number of unworthy postings in any particular thread..............

The problem can be when reading a thread on a relevant topic, some one posts something that takes it off on a tangent which can be irrelevant and who wants to wade through those hoping that the thread will return to topic. This going off at a tangent is not a rare thing but a very common one and often of no interest to me.
