you must have been driving down hill all the way! I only get 25mpg, best I ever got was just shy off 30mpg on a motorway run. Thats with working vis motors and a recent service.

I agree. None better than 30mpg with new VIS motors & service done.
Now fuelling with E85, between 20 & 24 in June & July. But I've got a rather heavy foot, often using sport mode even with cruise control. And at the moment A/C nearly constantly running worsen the result.

On good run I can get 26mpg out of my V8.

39.7 mpg over the last 550 miles, about half of it motorway, rest normal A roads with some town work.
I think that's pretty good for a 124k mile 2 litre KV6 with one of the VIS motors not working.
I would have liked to get it over 40 but think it will now gradually come down as most of my driving in the next weeks will be in the city.

Excellent! Never ever I will reach such economy...

But Autobox unfortunately are thirstier than Manual ones & 2L thriftier than 2.5. I'm loosing on 2 sides! ;)

I hate to admit it but the cruise control can drive more economically than me ! I've tested it several times and I admit it. :bowdown:I live in rural Norfolk with mainly flat roads and get 28-30 mpg with my 2 litre auto. I have had more on a long run driving at around 60 mph on A roads (A47, A17 and A1). The car has 50k miles on it and I drive like an old grandad (because I am an old grandad!).;)

100% agreed! Same remark on my side.
I love CC especially on free motorways in the center of France. Best mpg all day long. Very relaxing for my feet even at 80 mph: I've got a incurable backbone disease, sometimes very painful sciatica and unfortunately I'm not becoming younger as well... ;)

I used to get mid 20's when running on petrol and around 20mpg when on LPG, but obviously that was half price so the equivalent of 40mpg.

Shows how cars have progressed though, my Volvo has the same performance as the ZTT did however can do 50mpg without too much trying, that said the ghastly noise the diesel makes is no match for the KV6 howl!

Dorchester2 25th September 2019 09:16

My V6 averages 22.5 mpg on nearly 15k miles only fuelled by full E85, hence around 40/45 mpg of equivalent petrol, given that in France a 95 unleaded litre is approx. 1.45€ (diesel 1.40€) when the same of E85 is approx. 0.65€. I'd taken into account the increased quantity of E85 (+20/25% compared to 95 unleaded). Not so bad... :D

I have managed just over 500km on one tank in the v8 better than 21.75
The best in my 2.5 auto is 10km/liter 28.2 mpg
