7 Digit search on MK4 DVD Sat Nav Units
Now I'm not sure if a few of you have had these for Christmas,
but instead of keep answering PM's here are the Instructions for How To use and Set up the 7 Digit Postcode search on a BMW MK4 Computer, You do need V32 software for it to work and also a 2008 or 2009 High map Disc. The 5 Digit Input is of course easy just enter postcode in First Input Line after Country, then select Road etc. Please see PDF Below. . |

The Navteq discs are the best IMHO.
You can obtain these from BMW, Navteq on Web and several generally listed on EBay. Discs are also available with camera Databases available to. V32 Software is available for free download from Web. I will post up links later. What year Maps do you currently have? |

JDC, i have always thought that the 7 digit input was very awkward to find and input so i dont really use it. Do you know if their is a better system going to be devised in the near future.

I am afraid not.
Our units are quite old design now, and the Software would have to be completely re written for them. New maps are not a problem due to the sheer number of units out there. Newer BMW's Sat Nav is now using the I Drive system. The best and easiest system using Postcode search is the standard first 5 digits, then select correct road and off you go. All units should allow the first 5 digits of Postcode as long as Software is up to date V31/V32 this also gives the 3D perspective view if wanted and provision for addition of more GUI and Speed Camera and red light camera Database. |

The new Speed Camera Databases also have where a Mobile speed camera units will be situated when in use,
and where Red Light Cameras are situated, for people that decide to jump amber/red lights. Mainly in built up Cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham etc. |
