A suspicious looking case study!
The company I work for has recently engaged a company called Randle Engineering to take on some consultancy work for us.
I wasn't familiar with their capabilities, so I took a look at their website today and stumbled upon a very familiar looking piece of engineering: https://www.randle.co.uk/case-studie...uspension-arm/ What's more coincidental is that these were the very components I spent last weekend cursing whilst replacing, as they'd pretty much split in half... but at 220,000 miles, maybe Randle did their bit |

Who sells their arms if anyone does? Are there any drain holes in those arms? Interesting to know who a manufacturer is. macafee2 |

Looks like they were the contracted by Rover Group, along with the other companies stated, presumably in the late 90s sometime.
This appears to be the original engineering, rather than aftermarket / re-engineered parts. |

It refers to aluminium arms. Those were fitted to BMW s. They were not reaching their projected life span. Built in obsolescence?

Ah, it's resurfaced, I had that link years ago but then for some reason it would no longer work.
Yes the work done by Randall was in the late nineties. It's the usual thing though, all done for cost, I noticed on the new article the actual cost savings per unit seem to have disappeared now replaced by percentages. If they'd only galvanized the blooming things they wouldn't have had so many problems due to corrosion. The similar arms on the Volvo S60 and associated models are all galvanised any just never rot!
