The Birthdays
Remembering Windrush Aka Derek
Derek used to write up the birthday wishes for many many years, he is still missed RIP Before he passed nearly 5 years ago, he asked if I could take over from him and of course I said yes. Unfortunately during those years I wasn’t always able to do the birthdays because I needed to have various operations, so Elroy very kindly stepped up and took over, thank you Roy, thank you very much. Now back on my feet again, out of interest because I am abroad, there is a time difference, I sometimes receive advanced notice from the club computer whose birthday it is by 2-3 hours ahead of GMT and before it is flashed up on the boards. If members would like to be wished a happy birthday on their birthday, can they please make sure all of their birthday details are completed in the optional information of the user CP control panel, thank you |

Thank you Bob for those kind words, much appreciated. I know I have also asked you to step up and do the birthday wishes which you happily did. Thank you, thank you.

Likewise & Huge thanks & much appreciation from Jan & I to you Phil for all the sterling work & dedication which you have provided with the 'Birthdays' over the years for us Members on behalf of this Club.
Huge thanks & much appreciation must also go to Roy [Elroy] for all the help & again dedication you have provided in ensuring the continued success this role has played for all Members to enjoy & really feel a part of this great Club of ours over the years & hopefully for many years to come, well done Guys many many thanks & very much appreciated certainly from Jan & I. Derek [Windrush] was a true Gentleman in every sense of the word, a true & dedicated Senior Member who gave his all to this Club over the years & there is certainly a great sense of loss whenever Derek is very often mentioned, indeed there is a great feeling of loss of which cannot be replaced. Derek was a great personal Friend to Jan & I along with his Wife Lilian whom we shared many a happy hour at various Club Meets all over the Country, now alas but memories but very happy memories, ones which will last Jan & I to look back on with much pride having known them, God Bless you both. With sincere Best Wishes.....John & Jan.

Derek was probably the proudest owner of a 75 I have ever met, On top of that a perfect gentleman and a true representation of his era, the likes of which we will never see again. Happy driving up there fella.
