Default DD Ipod 351 Error!

Arrraahh.

Just bought an iPod Classic 160gb (7th generation)

Plugged into my DD and goes to iPod screen automatically.

But then just keeps comeing up with 'time out 351'

Firstly i reset the DD.

Then reset the Ipod (Menu and select button)

Still no joy.

Took DD out made sure all connections were in place (they where) and the join of the cable was right way round (it was)

Still not working

Anyone had anything similar?

Thanks

I've had that message a couple of times on my unit. Each time I just switched to radio, and when switching back all was well.

No idea what the error code means though Maybe Eamon (CDTI) can advise?

I have that error a few times also. Changing to a different source and back to iPod has always fixed it for me. I think its something to do with the handshaking/control signals between the iPod and HU.

The Chinese units are very picky about which iPods the will work with. Try an iPod reset while connected to the HU also.

Thanks CDTI, have done all the above and still no joy

If anyone else has a latest iPod Classic 160Gb they could try on here DD i would love to hear from you. Mines on version 2.0.4 firmwire and seems there is no way to downgrade it. From reading on the net this firmware has encryption on it and the DD Hardware is probably not capable of reading it and hence error.

So a lovely iPod classic 160 GB might be up for sale soon with nearly a years warranty!

That is an Issue with almost all of thye Head Units from China
(All Brands and Car Makes)
Apple changes and Upgrades and the software goes out of date.
Sorry but there will not be a patch for that.
I would have to assume that the Androids would eventually come out with a patch as that factory is capable of patching and upgrading the firmware.
