Brackets
John, you're the best
I'll contact X-Parts in Holland and order them. Question: if they are cheaper in the UK, can you bring them for me to the Lux meet? I'll send you the money then and probably delivery costs. Do you have Pay-Pal. Anyway lets hear from X-Part Holland first how much everything is. I let you know. regards, Ralph Last edited by damydyo1; 11th April 2007 at 19:58.. Reason: forgotten |

Easy job, Ralph...
You can't upgrade it, but retrofitting is no problem. Did the job myself in 2,5 hours, completely working. You will need a new loom, but that's all... You can search for a loom of a used 75, or buy a new one on E-bay (www.kufatec.de has great ones (They are for BMW, but it's the same system. You will need a extra "thing" for the steering wheel controls, Keith knows which one.....) In the Netherlands I know an adress for all the brackets for the sat/nav. It's van Noort (www.autobedrijfvannoort.nl), especially for MG and Rover. Nice guy, and great coffee! (And that's what matters ;-) )

Making your steering wheel remote switches work!
I finally discovered why my remote control isn't working. At the meet in Cumbria Keith told me to look for any power supply on the K-bus interface. I showed him their was none mentioned on the electrical diagram.
He told me the diagram was wrong. After searching on the RAVE CD I found a page from the pin numbres belonging to connector C1245 on the K-bus interface PN YWQ100031. It's a 6 pin connector PN YPC115290 wich you will need. According to the diagram I only use pin 2, 3, 5 and 6 expecting it all to work, but if you can see on the pin description you also have to connect pin numbre 1 on the igniton switch power supply. What I expect to work after this is: - GAL van +1 tot +6 (speed independent volume) - Remote audio control on steering wheel I attached some pdf files to this thread to show you some visuals. I explained the Mrs. that I had to reopen the dash for this. After I had received some serious replies from her I decided to wait untill the weather changes. Keith, thanks for your help. Arjan, heb je mijn mail niet ontvangen, dan kunnen we misschien dit onderdeel even samen fixen als jij de K-bus ook binnen hebt. I hope this wil complete the upgrade for some of you. New projects for the High Line coming up: - Trip Computer visual on screen - Reverse switch i.c.w. camera on screen - DVD connection on screen i.c.w. DVD screens/player in headrest - TV aerial diversity using for countries abroad Holland Regards Ralph |

As I've now paid my sub, I suppose I'm now properly entitled to post messages and replies!!! Ralph I've been following this and other threads on the same subject. I want to upgrade to Highline too, I've got most of the parts, I think(!) radio module (a rover one!!) monitor, computer (Rover MK??) and a B*W trimble unit. I missed a brand new Rover cable on ebay last year and have never seen one since! I've contacted Kufatec by email with the above parts list asking for a price, I got a reply saying they can't make cables for Rover!!! Now I notice you've had more success, any help or did you get refused at the beginning? Also I notice you have no 'trimble' fitted nor aerial, have you used a B*M nav computer instead? I have seen a thread elsewhere regards the remote control, I'll see if I can find it.
Great job!!!! Regards |

Schotten Kufatec will be able to do you a cable but they may need you to tell them exactly what you want.
It is pretty much identical to one from an E46 only the actual length may be an issue They need to know the type of radio you have (round or flat pin) You could ask them to send you one on sale or return then take decent Pics and create a wiring diagram of what they have sent to post here I could easily work out what is or is not missing from there |
