Default Tempting

As fond as I am of my Rover 75, an obvious choice for any future replacement is the Jaguar XF. And I've just spotted this... Corrr

It's a move I know a few members have made, and a good one - the XF is very nice.
Maybe in a few years...

yes indeed.

We are allowed to view the desirable from a distance but who would want to part with the old lady...

I do like the XFs a lot, and wouldn't mind owning one, at some point. However, the trim quality always feels a bit disappointing, and I think the interiors are starting to get quite dated, particularly with all of the silver plastic. I don't think that's a colour I'd ever choose.

Were it me, I'd go for one in 'Caviar', with a proper engine (not a tractor). Some of the blue colours offered were very tasteful.

However, given the way that X350 XJ values have gone, I think I'd be more inclined to buy a really nice XJ, rather than an XF.

When the ZT eventually dies (hopefully years from now) I may looks to see if I can afford a second hand XF. Sadly the estate versions are relatively new and pricey and there's no manual option.
There's a really nice deep red colour you can get...

Had a 2005 Jag XJ X350 (first of the aluminium bodied XJs). It was a disaster area.

Parts are really expensive too compared with our cars, and DIY isn't easy.

I won't be rushing back to Jag.
