Default Radio Security Code

I've just finished putting back the harmony head unit and CD player so I sell the car. The head unit has sat in a draw for 2 years now but didn't require the security code. Most odd, didn’t seem very secure to me.

It was optional as to whether the code was enabled or not at PDI.

Harmony have a code, it's just that yours has not been activated.
You can activate it by pressing and holding the radio tuning 'UP' button whilst switching on by pressing the volume button, the display will show 'Code Enabled' But make sure you have the code first!!!

Can this option be reveresed? I know that may sound daft, but who in there right mind would nick the Harmony radio, especially as you need to remove 4 screws and cut up a credit card to remove it.

I didn’t' know it had to be activated. Perhaps whoever bought the car new realised that tapes would be of little use in the future and therefore thought nobody would nick it.

I've always thought it odd how now dash cd unit was made.

A dash mounted single cd player was an option.

Yes the same way, the display will ask for the code instead of 'Code Enabled', after entering the code, it will then be disabled.
