Default Front sidelight glowing

Hi .
My offside front side light is glowing slightly. There is 5.3v across the bulb and this rises to 10v will the bulb removed thus no load on the circuit. I've not delved any further so far. Anyone had this fault before?

have you tries popping a different light switch module in temporarily to see if it cures it?

Dodgy, probably corroded connector in the cable block >somewhere<, I presume the n/s headlight/sidelight and o/s headlight works OK, which would rule out a bad earth.

Wiring harness runs from nearside to offside, if the n/s light is ok, trace the wiring thru the maze of plug blocks over to the o/s, all runs behind the bumper.

There is a common earthing point on the o/s chassis rail near the o/s outer headlight (big cluster of black wires)

No.
I only noticed this late last night and gave up before it was too dark, had folk in tonight so no chance to do any other diagnoses. The LSM is coded anyway so I don't think it's a like for like swap even if I had one.

Check the loom where it runs over the chassis rail, notorious for wearing through & causing shorts

A bad (corroded) earth on the system can lead to earthing back through the bulb. It used to happen a lot on truck rear lights due to salt corrosion where the wiring joints were exposed. The brake lights used to earth through the flashers and glow.

Hi.
This has been a right pain to track down, so far with no success. I've disconnected the LSM, and painstakenly been right through the loom.
Oddly the problem goes away for many hours then comes back for the same length of time.
The loom looks fine no chafing or any exposed cables.
