i'm not sure what stereo you have, but if it helps there are two amps:

XQK100190 (without Hi-Line for Saloon)
XQK100310 (with Hi-Line for Saloon)

i'm guessing you want the first

you will need a stack of leads tbh. if you haven't got the loom, its a bad starting place.

I do however have a loom and that first amp available if you have trouble finding it all.

I"d recommend you read this first though:

Still reads the same to me, just quoted your original question, which I thought I had answered, for clarity.

Regardless, sorry I can't be more help, but this is my best effort -

if your new stereo doesn't just plug in to your car (which I don't think it will as from memory all hk setups use the rover pins, not iso) , it is unlikely to work without getting out the clippers to the wiring. Unless your stereo is a standard Rover (symphony or hiline) it won't have the rover plug on it i suspect. I don't know of any adaptors, maybe someone else can contribute.

In theory, if you look at the link I posted there is a way to splice your output wires in to the harmon kardon amp input wires, as it is essentially just a line out amp, and all the detail of what wires do what is in the link I sent. You will probably need to be comfortable with chopping some wires though.

Frankly I'd recommend checking the back of your headunit though - if it has RCA plugs for amps, you would be so much better off binning the HK amp, buying a cheap 2 channel and connecting that up to the HK sub, thats what a few of us have done myself included - the quality of the sound will be so much improved - it all just depends on whether or not your stereo has RCA outs.

this link will give you the detail on how to do that , and it is a much better solution :

good luck.

On a non-highline equipped car that has Harman Kardon you need to check if the loom is still in place, I suspect it is, check behind the boot liner for the 12 and 18 pin white plugs. If so I think all you should need is either the ISO or BMW connector. You're best posting a photo of what plugs you have behind your current head unit.

Above post is right, though there are 4 different amplifiers:
Saloon with Highline - XQK100310
Saloon without Highline - XQK100190
Tourer with Highline - XQK100330
Tourer without Highline - XQK100320

You will need one of the two without Highline depending on whether you have a Saloon or Tourer.
Main thing is that you'll need to confirm the loom is still in the car as quite often people remove items and just chop the plugs off to sell with the part.

It is possible to purchase the plugs and wire them in making up the loom yourself as I did, but I did that on a car that had the Highline TV Satnav

The harmon Kardon system amplifies the speaker output of the radio.

The brown ISO plug takes the speaker output to the Harmon Kardon amp and from the HK amp to the speakers.

If someone has removed the HK amp and your replacement radio give sound from the car speakers then someone has altered the wiring.

If you remove the HK amp on a factory installed system without some alteration to the HK wiring you would get no sound.
