Theres a dash test you can do, where all the warning lights are illuminated and screen tested with random lines. If you don't see your light illuminated - well then I think you know your answer...

Alternatively - unplug the connectors under the seat. Your light will come on. Again, if it doesn't...

(I lived in Yaxley up until earlier this year, I now live just down the road )

EDIT - Dash instructions - http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=55585 - look for "Cluster System Test". No need to disconnect anything and will only take 5 mins.

EDIT2 - You may well find the LED removed (I think Klazy said something like a third of the ones he'd opened up had been messed with!), because it was always on, because of issues such as the airbag connectors under the seat.

Thanks for all your help, I have done the diagnostic test and the ABS light does not light up, seatbelt light and airbag do not light up. The strange thing is that when I normally switch the key into the second position, the ABS light does come on and then goes off so I know its working. Seatbelt and airbag lights dont. I have taken a photo of some connections under the drivers seat, there seeems to be one connnector that I cannot find where its other half to connect to is. Can anyone help. I wonder if this is the reason for lights not working on dash.

In short NO
The light should come on at ignition regardless.
I think that is one for the seat, unused, it is not the air bag or seat belt pre-tensioner. They are the two small 2-pin connectors.

Saw Mark today...

Fresh black tape over the SRS led.'...
Why do these idiot garages / sellers put folks lives at risk doing this.
Reset the faults and it acted normally.

May not have been the garage, the previous owner could have traded it in like that
