He also forced that wee girl to give evidence and the judge commented on that .

My wife was 17 when we met, she is the one who did the chasing as well. She looked about 23-24, it was only when I met her parents the I discovered their was a 15 yr gap between our ages

Not every bloke who ends up with a 17yr old is a wrongun, we've been together 8 years this year and we also have 2 little princesses together.

I'm glad the opinions throughout this thread have pretty much all been the same. Elsewhere I've heard (and in other cases too)...'she led him on, she knew what she was doing etc'.......wrong!!!!! 15 year old girls are daft wee lassies pretending to be grown up and having sex is the ultimate act in that pretence. And if her partner is her 15 year old boyfriend, then fair enough........but adults have a duty of care to any and every child and you're right, he preyed on an innocent, impressionable child and robbed her of the last remaining years of her childhood. Beast.

No you're right, not every guy who dates a much younger woman is a wrong 'un BUT I still think the law should be changed to protect the majority of 16/16 yo's who are taken advantage of by older men and get away with is cos 'it's legal', know what I mean?

Fact is if he had put his hands up he would have recieved a lesser term but he chanced his arm and got what he deserved.
