Default A new Dynavin DD : D99 platform

Looking at Sean's brand new website, I've seen a brand new Dynavin headunit, called D99 and described here : http://autogpsdvds.com/index.php?rou...product_id=135

...And at Dynavin's site : http://www.dynavin.com/products/product_dnv_e46.php
...And at the BMW guys : http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=886222

Sean, could you give us some more info ? Such as :
  • Why haven't you made an announcement here before ?
  • Could you list precisely the new features ? In a word : what can I do with this unit that I cannot do with the Android I bought from you and that is not yet fully installed ?
Although it's great to see the products going better and better, I have mixed feelings about this. You told us that buying our android units we'd get the top of of the top, cutting edge, state-of-the-art headunit. We waited for months to have it in our hands and just a month after, we see this new platform and we learn that what we have bought is "an economy platform (...) to make the cost lower" than this new one.

Of course, as this new platform is WinCe based and embeds new hardware (new DSP, tuner, phonebook, TMC, odb and pdc support...) so I'm afraid that we cannot wait for a software upgrade giving us the same features.

So I'm just wondering if you have any info about Dynavin developping a new hardware revision of the ANDROID units and supporting the same features ? In a word : shouldn't I stop installing my current Android HU, wait for the new one ?

Another thing is worrying me : seeing Dynavin developping new hardware, how could I hope they're working on software upgrades for my - already old - headunit ?

--- EDIT --
Ok, it's done. You won't find it at Dynavin's website but on the web, look here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUMxAdqy0ro or here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lE708CfcSkA

So Sean, things are pretty simple :
1. When do you have the D99 Android available ?
2. What will proposal to D95 Android users in order to obtain the D99 will look ?

To be fair this is the 'downside' of aftermarket units, no sooner have you invested in one than it's out of date, it's the same with PC's, games consoles et al

Less time costs more money

The problem is with ALL technology, that no sooner than you have made that investment, the kit is generally obsolete and has been replaced by the next model..

You can safely say this for TV's, PC's, Laptops, Mobile Phones, and in our case DD Units...

You can sit and wait for the next model, and then the one after that etc...etc

But then there comes a point, where you have to stop waiting and start buying, knowing full well that the price WILL go down and a new better model will shortly follow..

Sad but unfortunately true...

It was talked about End of November. Released Jan 1st
We are not 6 months out ! LOL

We have 2 , I Have ads ready but we are having issues with the tester.
Personally I Don't think its work upgrading if you have the D95 Android. It is More money and the differences are not that immense.

Well, could we be more specific ?
  • Phonebook : It's the last feature preventing me to just keep my phone in my pocket.
  • PDC vizualisation : ... But does it works with our Rover/MG ?
  • New graphic DSP : Could it lead to a smoother Android experience ?
  • OBC : Isn't it fully redundant with the dashboard info panel ?
  • Integrated mic : Does this one works with bluetooth ? I'd like not to have to hide an external mic. With the D95, internal mic only seems to work in Android... Wich is useless without voice command capabilities (wich is buggy in D95 current firmware)
  • Android : Wich Android ? 2.2 or 2.3 ? Does it FINALLY support voice command ??? Would be
On the other hand, even if the double tuner could lead to a better sound/stability, the new radio gui is just
