Someone understands
Hello,
The latest newsletter from Hagerty states: Future Classic: The 1998–2005 Rover 75 We're making the case for the Rover 75 as a collectable, but in most respects it's already there, with a following many of its contemporaries would envy. Spot on, I would say. Has anyone had an insurance quote from them, thinking back to another thread? Derek. |

Yes i saw that - did like this quote from the article
"But you’ll struggle to find a modern equivalent with the charm or comfort of a 75, which gives it a real unique selling proposition as a modern classic. The wooden dashboard and cod-Bentley vibes might have seemed twee in 1999, but they’ve arguably aged better than the severe black plastic and fake carbon and aluminium that were all the rage in other models at the time, while Rover’s focus on ride quality over handling precision almost feels like the work of a time-traveller (from the future, not the past) given the state of today’s roads".

Seems as though people are beginning to come round to saying what a good car 75/ZTs are. If people had not listened to the then idiot’s that adorned TV, Clarkson etc, the marque could have been outselling a good many foreign cars today. Aahhh well, we know what we have got, it is for the others to ponder what might have been. As an accolade, I am putting my 2.5 Connie SE second vehicle, on the road in July, and it has just passed its mot with no advisories. Not bad for a 2003 vehicle. The diesel will now ‘rest’ in the garage for 12 months. Can not wait for that purr from those six cylinders again.Happy days ahead.

Enjoy those happy days, bl52krz.
I'm still shopping for some realistic continental breakdown cover. The ghastly alternative is trains/boats/planes, followed a hire car. Just as costly, and nothing like as much satisfaction. Derek. |
