Just got back from MoT and it has passed with two advisories:-
1. Tyre slightly damaged/cracking or perishing both rear (5.2.3 (d) (ii)) 2. Offside Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement lower arm, rear bush (5.3.4 (a) (i)) I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear that the tyres are Avons. Fortunately, I bought some front suspension bushes from Arctic's warehouse clearance sale! |

Looks like you will need to replace the OFS lower arm as well Dave. Not a bad result though, all easily fixable.

Mine passed today at the second attempt, needed a nearside track rod end.
Have some advisories, Vehicle structure is corroded but structural rigidity is not significantly reduced nearside rear, Suspension arm corroded but not seriously weakened rear upper(both sides), Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (front, both sides). Will order a sill repair panel tomorrow and get the rest done around February or March I think. |

I think the work needed would be a bit too much to expect at a NANO meet but I'm looking forward to attending at least one before I go off narrowboating and at least one afterwards just for the social aspect.

Well another pass on the 24th there, a few expected advisories. Mainly corrosion but nothing scary at least. Sills looking slightly bubbly at 3 corners so have just ordered the 4 repair panels set from T Hobbs and once i get them in will get a side done at a time to spread the cost. The remaining corrosion is still at the wire brush, treat and paint stage - subframes which are really not that crusty at all and in round the rear springs etc. Also a front lower arm ball joint has slight play, passenger side which i will have a got at myself. Dont mind that at all, just got to make the time

MoT passed today, again with no advisories. That's a clean sheet for all its 22 years.
It was a joy watching the tester call his mates over to look around under the car with open mouths. Afterwards he came over to say it was amazing to see such a clean motor and that they don't even get many 3 and 4 year old cars as spotless and corrosion free underneath as mine. Drove home grinning like a Cheshire cat
