No as if you remove it the belt tension will be lost you will need to fully strip down for inspection

I’ve made some progress today, but the oil cooler bolts are stuck fast so I’ll have to cut those off.

Does anyone know what size thread they are so I can ready the inevitable helicoil for the repair?

Oil cooler bolts should be quite an easy task to loosen with a decent socket set and power bar and not a good idea to cut them off really. Just a quick question, have you done this before as the air con compressor can be the worst thing to remove ?

No first time, a/c was a breeze but had to cut two of the oil cooler bolts off.

I found the culprit, it was the timing belt tensioner pulley. It was quite an enjoyable job all in, a nice car to work on.
