Replacing sill chrome trim
Just had a full respray on my 03 CDT and I took as much trim off as possible before it went. To get the sill trims off I slid them towards back of car over the clips and then took clips off. I was going to reuse some of them again but they seem slightly smaller than the holes in the body and feel looser than before. Should there be some kind of insert for the holes that the clips go into? Should I insert the clips, spaced correctly, into the trim and then push the trim straight on rather than sliding it over the clips when they are in the body? Sliding the trim over the clips method seems likely to cause scratches in my new paint.
Been to local Halfords for something to stick the 75 numbers back on and they've suggested the tape meant for number plates but the numbers originally had a black sticky foam type stuff on but I'm not sure where to get it. Any advice welcome and hope this is the right section for my questions as its to do with bodywork. |

The sill trim clips don't have any insert, it's just the clip that's required.
The easiest way to refit is to fit the clips to the trim, line them up then push them home. As for the double sided tape, 3M do a good line in some very thin tape that will be suitable for sticking the 75 badges back on.

Thanks for that Trikey!
Can't wait to get them back on but waiting for clips from Rimmer Bros ( and new union Jack badge and Rover 45 aerial/coaxial cable ). Also waiting for new number plate light unit from DMGRS as connectors wobbly and not working on present one. Got some of that tape coming off eBay as well and 75 numbers in better condition than mine. Can't remember exactly where CDT letters go on left side of boot lid. I did take photos before removing them but smashed my phone not long after and can't get anything from it now. Looked at loads of photos of 75s on internet but none seem to have CDT letters, even cdt's on eBay, etc, don't seem to have letters on. |

It sure does. Thanks very much. Just been cleaning the sill trims with Solvol Autosol paste for refitting later this week.
