Symphony switched antenna 12v out.
Couple of quick question re. the switched antenna 12v out on the Symphony... (Pin 5 on the lower, power connector).
Does it switch 12 volts on whenever the stereo is powered-up, or is it only when the radio is selected? More importantly, will it be okay supplying about 1 amp to a small power supply? I plan on running a Win CE nav/audio unit from the switched antenna out, it'd be nice to be able to switch it off with the stereo (it'll be giving voice prompts & music via the stereo anyway) & I want to hard wire the power supply. (I hate wires running free!). Last edited by Trisman; 26th February 2016 at 20:37.. |

It supplies the 12v to the aerial amp only when the Symphony is switched on. My WinCe headunit does supply the 12v to the aerial amp. I am not sure of the amount of current that can be drawn from pin 5 of the grey ISO. I would use pin 7 of the grey ISO as this is a ignition feed. I have my pin 5 12v output to power the aerial amp and a powered aerial. Dave T |
