The car had a 4 wheel alignment by the previous owner, I noticed N/S/L was scrubbing a little so went for a check. First thing the guy said was "Oh, these cars eat tyres anyway" he checked it and said all was fine, no charge. Probably didn't want to remove the undertray

Does one need to remove the undertray for adjustments with a really good alignment.?

They chew tyres don't they, "what a load of rubbish" my cdti is now on 125000 no tyre wear problems what so ever. If the is a problem surely it would not be to difficult to sort it out, as I can't see how there can be good and bad assembled cars coming off the same production line.

It does depend how you drive them - I like to take corners with a little gusto, so I do find I wear the outside edges a bit more than normal.

Otherwise, check your front lower arm bushes - when worn, they can cause abnormal tyre wear.
