Brulan,

It isn't that much more complicated... it is just that the lambda sensor on the exhaust obstructs the removal of the bolt through the large mount.

I replaced mine recently, and I am a complete novice when it comes to this sort of thing. I just popped my trolley jack under the exhaust for a few minutes, to give me the extra purchase required to remove the old mount and hang the new one.

I have used the Roewe mount from ebay (£55 delivered), and it has been superbly smooth so far!

Kind regards,

Mike

Loosen but do not remove the bolt at the small bush end.

Loosen all the way the bolt at the large end.

You will find the bolt cannot be withdrawn because it comes up against the nearby oxygen sensor. No need to remove it, with one hand push/pull the sump firmly, it will swing enough to move the oxygen sensor past the bolt and allow it to be withdrawn.

The bracket will now hang down, so simply remove the first bolt and it will drop out!

This didn't work for mine I'm fairly beefy , but could not swing the sump far enough to clear the sensor . It was however a quick job to unscrew the oxy sensor , after unplugging the wiring up behind the engine to stop it twisting
I can't help wondering if the fact that you can swing the sump easily suggests that the main engine mounts are a bit weak , and that might be causing the movement you are trying to cure ????
Just a thought ............

No I think its just because you need to eat your greens!

Actually on the last car I did it on I couldnt do it either, but then my shoulders are not what they used to be. I slung rope around something and got an assistant to haul on it while I got the bolt out/in!

I did the one on my 190 a while ago, took longer to take the undertray off than to actually swap the mount. Mine also looked ok before taking it off, where I found it was split almost all the way round.
