subwoofer
will enlarging the power feed cable to my amplifier improve the sound/base as it seems to be lacking the punch i am after. it at the monent only has a very small power cable.

I may be wrong, but I'd have thought that if the unit was trying to draw too much current for the cable, it'd either burn the cable out or pop a fuse somewhere.
Short of trying a different unit, I'd be looking more to improve the audio cables and/or check everything's setup/working correctly.
