Morning all, a chilly 9 deg start to the day here.

Steve, you should have said you stabbed the intruder, I bet the old bill would have turned up in droves then.

Good morning Andy, it doesn’t feel like summer. I don’t envy you having to face 9C

We have been invited to go swimming in a lake this afternoon but we are going to decline.

I know from personal experience using an unlicensed firearm in self defence against a burglar in South Africa gets a fast response from the police but I was warned by the police, if I kill the burglar in self defence using an illegal gun I could go to prison for 25 years. I wonder if it’s the same in the UK.

Through my work in forensic psychiatry, I have met offenders who have stabbed their victims. One used an ice pick to stab his victim in the eye to extract money for drugs. When he talked about it, he said the ice pick went in really easy and he showed no remorse for what he had done.

So much for a stress free day The number 101 gave me was an incident number not a crime number, had to call 101 again and get the crime number. Passed the number to the insurance, got a reply that an inspection has been arranged for 03/07/2024 . . . . that was yesterday . . . . AARGH

Morning all.

Had a decent journey home .

Quizzie now has her dressing is off but has a big plastic collar to stop her from licking the paw and more importantly nibbling at the stitches. She's not impressed .

Steve. Sorry to hear about all the delays and non response. It's bad enough being visited by scum but then this is just poor. Fingers crossed for you. Is it Texas where you can simply shoot burglars etc. and the Police simply come along to remove the corpse, no questions asked?

And what's all this about 9 degrees. It's sunny and reasonably warm here. The washing is out on the line

Take care everyone.

No heatwave here, temp in low teens with a strong wind. I need to go out, won't be wearing my bodywarmer, it'll be something more substantial.

Sunshine here at the moment. Picking up grandson from school for tea. Great! No telly and first class entertainment for a few hours!

Just have to dodge all the petrol heads on their way to and from "Full Throttle Thursday" at the local "Western Themed Restaurant" on the way home! The only road that gets a 40 mph speed restriction, wheelies, cut-ups and burnouts in less than a mile!

Reply was basically err . . . . oops, sorry. Saying for some reason the system had resent yesterday's message re a joiner to secure the garage.

Glad I wore a substantial jacket when I went out, March weather not July!
