[SOLVED] NavAll1: iGO won't start due to missing or incomplete folder

Hi Gents,

Did a firmware re-install yesterday and needed to re-install iGO. I had iGO installed on an SD card placed in the left hand slot of the unit.

I browsed to the SD card (using Total Commander since the unit itself does not allow browsing to the left hand SD card) and installed the APK. That went fine (after allowing "other sources" than Google Play).

So I wanted to start iGO to see if it works. No luck :( It gave me following error:

Quote:

missing or incomplete folder: data/data/com.navngo.igo.javaclient/license
I had this error before (somewhere in October) but I can't remember how I fixed the error  :getmecoat:

Help is profoundly appreciated :D

Time to update my own thread. I'd wish someone had come to the rescue since I start feeling helpless... :(

Uninstalled iGO from the unit
Did a factory reset
Tried to install the apk from the SD card
No luck

Uninstalled
Tried to install the apk that is still on the hard disk
No luck

No Luck means I get the License error

I know it is moody and I already gave her a name because of that but slowly.... ever so slowly.... I am starting to dislike her. All I want is a unit that does what it has to do and above all is stable.

Will the unit be more stable (albeit slower) when I upgrade the firmware to 4.x.x?

What do I need to do to get iGO installed? I promise I won't install anything else! Scouts honor!!

Sjonnie, Easiest way is to factory reset and set up the navi again

Hi Sean,

Thanks for your reply!

I did do a factory reset and installed iGO again from the SD card. The license error did not go away :(

Anything else I can try?

OK, so I went out to experiment a bit (without luck though).

In TC the SD card is mounted at /mnt/sdnavi So I thought it might be a good thing to edit the sys.txt file to point to that. But no luck.

There are no residual files on the card and as far as I can see the permissions are OK. Still.....

File listing of the card (using Linux):

OK, time to close my own thread :D

Tx to the help of Sean I have been able to get things going again.

And because I know I might need this solution again (and maybe helping others having the same issue :) ) here is a step by step:

Note: I want iGO to run of an SD card in the left hand slot!
  1. Turn off the unit
  2. Remove SD card from left hand slot
  3. Place SD card containing firmware in left hand slot
  4. Start unit by pressing the SRC button
  5. Re-install firmware (remember zillion beeps and 10 minutes :D)
  6. Install Total Commander from apk (see TC website for file)
  7. Insert SD card containing iGO files in left hand slot
  8. Install iGO apk (afterwards choose "done" not "open")
  9. Go to Settings>Navigation settings
  10. Select iGO (there should only be one - the one you just installed)
  11. Change the data path to iGO (only choice you'll have)
  12. Start iGO from the home screen
  13. Sit back and enjoy your glorious victory over modern technology :D

Phew! :D
