We’re delighted to formally announce the Bluebird Meet, which will take place on Saturday 2nd July 2022 at East Kirkby Aviation Heritage Centre in Lincolnshire.

The Bluebird meet takes places within the Mid Lincs Rover Club, who have invited club members to come along and enjoy a day out Gates open at 10am with an entrance fee of £10 per car. Please ensure you can make the payment in cash on entry.

Members of the club are invited to come along and enjoy a day celebrating the life of Debbie Stearman, who sadly passed away at the end of November last year. Debs and her infectious enthusiasm are very much missed, and her partner Andy Brown, who we all know as Trikey, will be at the meet to remember Debs.

What’s Happening?
The Aviation Centre at East Kirkby is a time capsule of the dark days of the Second World War, when countries near and far came together to liberate those forced to live under tyranny. The award-winning exhibits at the Centre include:

• A unique collection of Bomber Command vehicles
• See the restored Control Tower in its original operational condition
• Walk round a functioning hangar and see restoration work in progress
• Visit the Memorial Chapel, containing the names of all 848 crew and ground staff lost at East Kirkby
• Eat and shop at the NAAFI, a wartime building filled with photos and memorabilia

You will also get to watch the Lancaster bomber NX611 ‘Just Jane’ make taxi runs (at least 2 will take place)

You are welcome to bring your own food and refreshments. There is a NAFFI café and ice-cream stall on site which will be open if you feel peckish.

Spares Swap-O-Rama
Meets are of course a great place to meet other members and swap or buy those tricky to find parts. If you have a few spare parts which you wish to move on to other members, you can bring along up to 10 items to sell or exchange. If you have more than 10, or wish to set up a trade stall, please contact Dave_Lincs for further details.

Aye, sounds good, as its over 100 miles for us can you recommend B&B's, premier inn etc close by? that would make it more viable for those travelling long distances :)

I will be sorting this out for the 2nd of July and the venue will be at East kirkby but there might be a possibility of a Friday night party at our house then a convoy to East kirkby on Saturday or Saturday at east kirkby then a convoy back to our house after and a party and BBQ

Just an update I have still had no response from any of the green team about how good or what a great event this is which is very disappointing to me and other club members who make this show happen

But the show will go on but I am looking at running it through different ways will keep you updated but the date is the 2nd July

Anyone staying over? If so where?

I'm at Travelodge, Sleaford on Friday night though I'll probably check in late, 10:00pm'ish, as I'll eat at home before travelling.

Sleaford is virtually on my route and is less than 40 minutes from East Kirkby, I'll breakfast at either Burger King, McDonalds or Insomnia Coffee.

I’ve a pair of Mk1 Xenon headlamps in great condition (I’ve just cleaned them up and refurbished the lenses) I was planning to eBay, but would anyone coming to the meet be interested in purchasing them?

Rosie is in for first service (to me) - 90K, so everything. Rattle on front off side when going over speed bumps etc. Hope its nothing big otherwise I may miss the meet and its my first. Been looking forward to this for ages. :bowdown::bowdown:

Hiya all would have loved too have made it too this but unfortunately I can't I'm now caring for my grand mother she's has had a nasty fall and it's greatly affected her confidence till she recovers and able too walk without too much difficulty I want too stick around just too make sure she's okay as I'll be living with her till she's fully recovered.

Hope your all have a great meet as I know Deb's would be smiling away with pride with how much support and love it's truly the members that make huge impact in our lives.

Deb's in many ways was huge positive influence on me and so many others.
