Andy - just a thought:

Might be worth sending some of the vehicle shots in Post #93 to Practical Classics for their "Rust In Peace" section. If they use them, they'll pay you! :D

Not a bad idea, ill look into it

The stadium holds lots of memories for me, I spent most Saturday nights there watching Coventry (When we had a decent team)

Never saw racing at Brandon, but remember the visiting Coventry team at Kings Lynn being mullered by Ole Olsen. Great times when riders wern't afraid of a bit of rain.

Ah - the Coventry Bees was that Andy?

I was a Boro Bears (later Teesside Tigers & Middlesbrough Tigers) supporter for many years - they're now called Redcar Bears.
Gary Havelock (son of Promoter Brian) was probably one of our better known riders - Speedway World Champion in 1992

It was the Bees mate, I did attend Middlesbrough speedway once back in the early 80's, if I recall the track was under the A19 flyover??

Yup - that was the place - Cleveland Park; it doubled up as the dog track too.
It was also the place where I got stopped for speeding for the first time - 60mph in a 30 zone at midnight - in a 1560cc Ford Anglia :o
The Bobbies were sat in the Stadium carpark with no lights on their car - I didn't see it until it was too late
